Interview with Brent Lengel of examiner.com

Hey everyone.
This past Friday, before my rehearsal for Scratch, I sat down with Brent Lengel from examiner.com who wanted to interview me about Amuze and some of the other shit that I have going on. We met through Penny’s Open Mic; he liked the zine, and while we were able to have some brief drunken conversations about it in the hallway and waiting for the bar, he wanted to sit down and do a proper interview. Really? Someone wants to ask me about me, and write about me? I don’t think we’re going to have a problem with that.
So here’s the link to the whole article. Definitely pass this around if you like it, I want to get him lots of hits. Brent is a good guy and an actor and poet. He’s been reading at Penny’s too, something to look forward to if you haven’t been in a while.
I can say from personal experience, as a performer, Joe is anything but ‘safe’. His act constantly varies between impromptu musical numbers, comedy, and strikingly intense and real moments. “I’m always looking for an opportunity to break the fourth wall [When I perform]” He tells me between sips of Pabst “People have this idea that there’s a separation when they watch a performer, a distance, and when you break that barrier, when you do something they don’t expect and communicate with them directly, there’s real power there.”
